“I wish we could be sisters, Mommy”
My 5 and a half year old told me she wished she was my sister last night and it completely melted my heart.
She was the last one awake per usual and wanted to hear more stories of my childhood as she nestled in close to me in the dark. I described my 11 year old birthday sleep over and she wished she could have come as my sister!
As an only child, I have been extremely blessed with the best of friends and now with three amazing daughters.
I never had a sister by blood. But I did have a sister Mother, a sister Grandmother, a sister Aunt, a sister cousin, and a few very close sisters from different mothers.
Sisters from the same Mother and Sisters from different Mothers.
Either way, sisters are the best things ever.
